JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS
John 7: 40 When the crowds heard him say this, some of them declared, “Surely this man is the Prophet we’ve been expecting.”
41Others said, “He is the Messiah.” Still others said, “But he can’t be! Will the Messiah come from Galilee?
42For the Scriptures clearly state that the Messiah will be born of the royal line of David, in Bethlehem, the village where King David was born.”
43 So the crowd was divided about him.
44 Some even wanted him arrested, but no one laid a hand on him.
LASB :
The crowd was asking questions about Jesus. Some believed, others were hostile, and others disqualified Jesus as the Messiah because he was from Nazareth, not Bethlehem (Micah 5:2). But he was born in Bethlehem (Luke 2:1-7), although he grew up in Nazareth. He may have had a pronounced Galilean accent. If they had looked more carefully, they would not have jumped to the wrong conclusions. When you search for God’s truth, make sure you look carefully and thoughtfully at the Bible with an open heart and mind. DON’T JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS BEFORE KNOWING MORE OF WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS.
