BE ON YOUR GUARD
Luke 21:34 (LASB NIV - Bible Text)
Jesus Tells about Remaining Watchful
34 “Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap.
Luke 21:34 (BIS)
Luke 21:34 (AMPC)
34 But take heed to yourselves and be on your guard, lest your hearts be overburdened and depressed (weighed down) with the giddiness and headache andnausea of self-indulgence, drunkenness, and worldly worries and cares pertaining to [the business of] this life, and [lest] that day come upon you suddenly like a trap or a noose;
Lukas 21:34 (AMPC)
34 Tetapi perhatikanlah dirimu dan berjaga-jagalah, supaya jangan hatimu terbebani dan tertekan (terbebani) dengan kesusahan dan sakit kepala dan karena pemanjaan diri, kemabukan, dan kekhawatiran duniawi dan peduli terhadap [bisnis dari kehidupan ini, dan [jangan-jangan] hari itu tiba-tiba tiba-tiba seperti jebakan atau jerat;
LASB NIV - Notes :
Jesus told the disciples to keep a constant watch for his return. Although nearly 2,000 years have passed since he spoke these words, their truth remains: Christ is coming again, and we need to watch and be spiritually fit. This means working faithfully at the tasks God has given us. Don’t let your mind and spirit be dulled by careless living, drinking, or foolishly pursuing pleasure. Don’t let life’s anxieties overburden you, so that you will be ready to move at God’s command.
